Stephan Kral (PhD Student):

Together with my supervisor, Joachim Reuder, I will lead the field campaign. This task will include making decisions on the general setup of the instrumentation and the coordination of the different RPAS flight missions. Further I will be involved in the maintenance of the instrumentation of the 10-m mast and serve as a pilot and ground control station operator for the fixed-wing SUMO and bebop2met multi-copter system. The data gathered during this campaign will hopefully play an important role in my PhD project.

Joachim Reuder (Professor):

Manager and principal investigator of the ISOBAR project …. in other words the guy that claims the credits for success and delegates responsibility for failure…… Field leader in charge of the general experiment plan. Ground control station operator for the SUMO and bebop2met systems. Apparently also with magic hands that make every data logger he  touches stop ….

Andrew Seidl (Research Assistant):

… aka MacGyver, who can find solutions for any kind of problem – even the ones you would never consider. But also one of our UAV Pilots and in charge of the FMI sodar after Timo and Irene left.

Line Båserud (PhD student):

Interested in boundary layer measurements from UAVs. Ground control station operator for the SUMO and bebop2met systems, in addition to helping out with daily checks of the ground based measurements. Principal SUMO launcher and our “Lady of the Knots”

Kristine Flacké Haualand (PhD student):

Dynamic meteorologist who is also interested, but still a newbie, in experimental boundary layer meteorology. Ground control station operator for the SUMO and bebop2met systems, in addition to helping out with daily checks of the ground based measurements.

Martin Mueller (Engineer):

The master mind behind SUMO and one of the main paparazzi developers and the magician of the keyboard and the soldering gun.

Christian Lindenberg (UAV pilot):

Our extremly experienced pilot….. flies whatever, whenever… and a patient and skilled teacher for our own pilots. He also has the very helpfull skill to be able to sleep in the shortest breaks that occur in the measurement routines.
